DalVideo v1.1.0 — Platform Presets & Recording Overlay
DalVideo v1.1.0 adds platform presets for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram, plus a floating recording overlay that stays on screen while you work.
What’s New in DalVideo v1.1.0
DalVideo v1.1.0 is a feature update focused on making screen recording easier for content creators. Whether you’re recording short-form content for TikTok or a full lecture for Udemy, DalVideo now auto-configures everything for you.
Platform Presets — One Click, Perfect Settings
The biggest addition in v1.1.0 is platform presets. Instead of manually adjusting resolution, frame rate, and aspect ratio every time you record for a specific platform, you can now select a preset and DalVideo handles the rest.
Available Presets
| Preset | Resolution | FPS | Aspect Ratio | Max Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube Shorts | 1080 x 1920 | 30 | 9:16 | 60 seconds |
| YouTube | 1920 x 1080 | 60 | 16:9 | No limit |
| TikTok | 1080 x 1920 | 30 | 9:16 | 3 minutes |
| Instagram Reels | 1080 x 1920 | 30 | 9:16 | 90 seconds |
| Instagram Feed | 1080 x 1080 | 30 | 1:1 | 60 seconds |
| Twitter / X | 1920 x 1080 | 30 | 16:9 | 2 min 20 sec |
| Presentation | 1920 x 1080 | 30 | 16:9 | No limit |
| Online Course | 1920 x 1080 | 30 | 16:9 | No limit |
When you select a platform preset, DalVideo automatically sets the recording resolution, frame rate, and aspect ratio. For platforms with time limits — like YouTube Shorts (60 seconds) or TikTok (3 minutes) — DalVideo will automatically stop recording when you reach the limit and show the completion panel so you can immediately review or share your recording.
How to Use Platform Presets
- Open Settings (gear icon or
Ctrl+,) - Scroll to the Platform Presets section
- Select your target platform
- Close settings and hit record — everything is pre-configured
Recording Time Overlay
The second major feature is a floating recording overlay. When you start recording, a small overlay appears at the top center of your screen showing:
- A red dot indicating active recording (with a blinking animation)
- The elapsed time in
HH:MM:SSformat - A PAUSED indicator when recording is paused
Click to Stop
The red dot doubles as a stop button. Click it to instantly stop your recording — no need to switch back to the DalVideo window or remember a hotkey.
Not Captured in Your Recording
The overlay uses Windows SetWindowDisplayAffinity to exclude itself from screen capture. This means the overlay is visible to you while recording, but it won’t appear in the final video. This works on Windows 10 version 2004 and later.
Drag to Reposition
If the overlay is in the way, simply drag it to any position on your screen.
Improved Main Window During Recording
The main DalVideo window now shows the recording status more clearly:
- A REC indicator with elapsed time displayed inline
- The capture mode, monitor selection, and hotkey panels automatically collapse during recording to save space and prevent the status bar from being pushed off-screen
